MISSIONS
Our church is a missional church supporting locally, regionally, nationally and internationally ministries including....
Free Community Meals Monthly - The 3rd Wednesday of EVERY MONTH we offer a free community meal at the Family Life Center (FLC) 5-6 pm. These homemade meals have become a great time of fellowship for our church family, as well as many from our community. Everyone is welcome!
Shoes for Eagle Feet - The Shoes for Eagle Feet Project has been a mission of the Fayette Methodist Church since 2013. Every August for the past 10 years (except 2020 - canceled due to COVID) the membership of our church has supported this project financially and with our time. Over this time we have given brand new athletic shoes to over 600 elementary children in the Fayette School System. The start of the school year brings many expenses to families as they prepare their children for the new school year. This project has helped ease the burden for families by providing a new pair of shoes, at no cost, to start the school year. Any Fayette Elementary Student Preschool - 6th grade is able to attend this event.
Helping Hands of Fayette - We support our local food bank through the collection of food and funds as well as providing volunteers on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 1:00 pm for food distribution days.
Nuevo Progreso House of Hope - Nuevo Progreso, Mexico is an impoverished town located on the US--Mexican boarder. The families in this area are in need of basic necessities and many children are homeless and hungry. The Methodist Church has been sending mission teams and support to the Nuevo Progreso, Mexico area for over 20 years. They work with the Manos Juntas Ministry of the Mexican United Methodist Church. Clinics, community centers and other support structures have been built and supported for the humble and gracious people of this poor region. The Fayette Methodist Church has been participating in these annual trips since 2011, serving on the medical teams providing clinics for basic health care in the area.
Nationally, our church supports UMCOR relief efforts.
Our youth and adults have also participated in several mission trips to the Columbus area.
